There may have been snow on the ground and flights cancelled, but nothing was going to prevent us attending Olympia to launch equibuddy® last week!
Olympia London is such an incredible place, easy to get to, central for accommodation and oh, so big! So, with green bands firmly in position we were inside and a few hours later our stall was up, literature ready, and the gifts and goodwill we had accumulated during pre-launch were firing our excitement.
Just walking past the posters above brought home what a huge event the Horse Show is in the equine calendar and how privileged we were to launch our new app here.
The New Starts
Our stall, situated at the end of the walkway to the main arena, was one of 8 new start equine businesses all looking to share their vision and product with the Olympia Horse Show audience.
But.. would we have time to talk, would people want to stop (it’s a busy show after all). How would we explain in a few words the benefits this app can bring to the horse world. It felt like a huge challenge. What would we learn and would our app meet the real needs of the audience in attendance?
Multiple Horses & the Admin Headache
Well, what we did learn was that the audience was primarily female and it seems when they fall in love with horses they don’t stop at one! The over-riding issue people shared with us was the nightmare of administration. With multiple horses, having each horse’s details to hand and being able to identify them correctly when at the Vet or Farrier quickly and easily was heard again and again – a particular priority reported was correct identification when they, the owner were not present.
It also became very apparent that equibuddy® HQ is not alone in suffering from paper clutter. Managing vet notes, farrier updates, physio recommendations and just basic improvements in performance and development were mentioned over and over.
Explaining how to download the app, how to add each horse and how to build a community of professionals for your horse was welcomed again and again. It made us realise that building an app to work offline as well as online, building a mobile app rather than a desktop version and keeping the app as a simple to use tool were all good tactics.
Competitions, Gifts and Fun
It wasn’t a place to sell the app, but to introduce the equine community to our brand and our tool. It was also a time to celebrate and give back!

An ambitious statement, but with the app now available for download in both Google and the Apple app store and our unique one-on-one training in heavy demand, there is a need for safe, reliable advice to make the best of your horse.
Using the power of digital we aim to connect with lots more horse riders, enabling you to gather advice, implement it on the app, store what you learn and then review what works for you and your horse.
